Actor Carl Ballantine dies at 92
'McHale's' star got start as a magician

Actor and magician Carl Ballantine died Nov. 3 in Hollywood of natural causes Nov. 3. He was 92.
Born Meyer Kessler in Chicago, he started performing magic tricks as a teenager. He added comedy to the routine, and the Amazing Ballantine was born. (Read more . . . )
We had the Annual Meeting, and was attended by a great number of members!
The meeting was filled with fun and food! We are in the process of electing new officers and getting the minutes out. I apologize for the delay, I am in the hospital for a few ailments that the doctor says will be corrected soon! Once the minutes are approved, I will post them here.
As I write this (1/8/10) I hope everybody will have a great time at the Holiday Party - sad I will miss it, but want to pass along a hearty wish for all of our members and their families to have a prosperous, safe and healthy new year!

2. November 10th is the annual meeting, Mark your calendars. Dinner is free for all paid members. We will have a meeting and be electing new board members. Please consider running!! We need help. I am up for re-election and will not be running....so time to step in!!
3. April 10th There will be another "Nothing Up My Sleeve" magic show followed by a III Sheeter reception for Marshall Brodien. I will be sending a brochure shortyl regarding details. You DO NOT want to miss this.....
4.. Holly Nagel will be coordinating a newsletter in the next few months. Please send her info and stuff...especially you Celeste Evans!! You have had lots of awards and recognitions lately and Jack Kodell...I saw you two in the magic magazine.....Holly's email holly@hollynagel.com
5. Paul Bachman is moving....big news....more later.. on that, hope he plans to have us all over for a party.

April 10th Nothin' Up My Sleeve 8 and Special Tribute to Marshall Brodien.
I would suggest the best way to buy tickets for our members would be over the phone as they may want to avoid the steps to purchase online and some additional conv. fees that apply. Here are the steps though for online purchase -
They can go to www.rauecenter.org and go to the April 10th Nothin' Up My Sleeve Show click BUY TICKETS! button then they will see the two events listed - Nothin' Up My Sleeve 8 and Special Tribute to Marshall Brodien. If they want tickets to the show they click Buy Tickets button then they click drop down for "select a price" and decide what seating zone they want (note these prices are before applied discount). Then they type Number of Tickets and then they click Quick Pick Tickets button. Now comes the discount! They click "Apply Discount" button and then enter coupon code Magic8 and click "unlock" button. After clicking "unlock" they need to click the drop down "select new price" and then click IIISheeter discounted price ($3.00 less then regular price) and then the "Change Discount" button. Check out and DONE!
For the Special Tribute to Marshall Brodien (reception) they would go to the April 10th Nothin' Up My Sleeve 8 and this time click on Special Tribute to Marshall Brodien "Buy Tickets" button and then enter Password: Magic8 and then click Continue button. Type in amount of tickets and then click "Reserve Selected Tickets" button. Check out and DONE!

The outing on the Paddle Boat on Sunday, the 28th of Sept. was a lot of FUN! It was GREAT seeing other members of the club enjoying themselves! Sure there was some "shop talk", but everybody letting their hair down so to speak to enjoy the fresh air and the cruise down the Fox River was what it was all about! If you weren't there,(and you know who you are), you missed a wonderful time!
